PRODUCE

See the tree,
For the forest
the orchard was raised;
Seed to root
and root to fruit
for the Harvester to be praised;
You’ve been planted for this reason
Strive to grow in your season
and reach for the Light
without exception, without excuse
Because the value of your life
is not measured
By crown of branches or number of rings,
It is found in what you produce.

Harry Hoopoe huddles

With his wife Mary inside their nest;

Relishing the hugs and the cuddles

Knowing that he be not the brightest bird.

Not with longest beak or biggest crest,

Not with widest wings or burliest chest;

No crooning coo – so to speak;

But with pride he sings

Knowing that he be the best
