The Hotel Hamburglar

We recently went to Oklahoma to attend our cousin’s funeral. After the services, we met up to visit at the hotel lobby. We had settled in with our coffees and conversations when seemingly out of nowhere this portly little fellow comes waltzing by. He appeared absolutely giddy about his prospective meal and completely oblivious to the small audience that was now watching in stunned silence. What was so striking wasn’t just his appearance, but the fact that he seemed to glide or float through and over everyone in culinary bliss made him an undeniable presence. We sat in silence, transfixed on the spectacle before us. As the gentleman disappeared out of sight(and hopefully earshot); my brother turned to me and asked, “What did I just see?” We all had a good laugh, which was exactly what we needed on such a sad occasion. Laughter truly is the best medicine. I knew right away that I would have to draw this fellow; and as I sign off, I have to say thanks to the Hotel Hamburglar wherever he may be. Peace and blessings to all,
